Training
For the advancement of your dog, from puppy stage to the veteran dog, we provide the medium and means to help you to maximize your pointing dog’s performance. Our club members enjoy training their dogs and helping other members' dogs to be the best that they can be.
Training sessions take place from April to September on Wednesday evenings. Each member pays just a $20 training fee for the entire training season. The club provides the birds for the training sessions and a large variety of training equipment such as check-cords, remote bird releases and auto-backers. The more experienced members help the beginner members with the equipment and to provide valuable dog training knowledge. The Club meets on the second Wednesday of each month. During the training months, we meet after training on that second Wednesday, at 8:00pm. During the months that we do not train, we meet at the West Penn Sportsman’s Club at 7:00pm. We often shoot sporting clays prior to the meetings at West Penn Sportsman's Club.
