Activities
Our Training Season is every Wednesday starting at 6:00 pm from April to September. When our training season is over, our meetings are held at the West Penn Sportsman's Club in Murrysville, PA. See the Training page for more information.
Penns Woods and other local dog clubs sponsor a youth pheasant hunt in October of each year. Kids between the ages of 12 & 16 years old are mentored while they hunt pheasants with club members guiding with their dogs, and shoot sporting clays. It's a great way to introduce young people to hunting. Our club and two other local clubs, Oak Ridge Pointing Dog Club and the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Greater Pittsburgh hold AKC licensed Hunting Tests and walking trials as well.
